Пећка патријаршија / The Patriarchate of Peć

Пећка патријаршија - група цркава на домаку Пећи, крај Пећке Бистрице, а на улазу у Руговску клисуру - један је од најзначајнијих споменика српске прошлости.

У њој се вековима налазило седиште српских архиепископа и патријараха. Од свога постанка у XIII веку Патријаршија је окупљала учене теологе, врсне књижевнике и обдарене уметнике и сви су они у њој остављали сведочанства о свом прегалаштву.

Стога је она данас не само старо средиште српске цркве, већ и место где се чува значајна уметничка заоставштина.

The Patriarchate of Peć, a group of churches in the immediate neighbourhood of Peć and at the entrance to the Rugovo gorge, is one of the most important monuments of the Serbian past.

It was the center of the Serbian church for centuries. From its origin in the 13th century the Patriarchate attracted learned divines, reputed writers and gifted artists, and all of them have left traces of their work in it.

It is therefore not only the center of the Serbian Church, but also an important repository of its cultural heritage.

This painting is inspired by world famous icon, painted by Andrey Rublyov(1360-1427), the greatest medieval Russian painter of Orthodox icons and frescoes. In Orthodox iconography, this icon is considered to be the most beautiful representation of Holy Trinity.

Rafting camp Kalista

Ово су фотографије из рафтинг кампа Калиста, Фоча, Република Српска. Сваке године рафтинг камп Калиста организује окупљање уметника који у предивној атмосфери стварају слике инспирисане лепотом река Таре и Дрине и предивних обронака Зеленгоре. Заиста вреди доћи у ове крајеве ( иначе завичај моје супруге Љиљане ), и уз шум воде, у чаробној природи, уз предивне људе, осетити љубав и радост коју нам природа пружа.

Here are some photographs from rafting camp Kalista, Foča, Republika Srpska. Every year rafting camp Kalista organizes gathering of artists. They make their paintings inspired by beauty of rivers Tara and Drina and wonderful hill-sides of Zelengora mountain. This beautiful place ( native land of my wife Ljiljana ) is really unforgettable. Besides the sound of flowing water, in magic nature and with wonderful people, you can feel love and happiness that nature gives to us.

"Creation" - The Manual&Co mural

In 2002/03, I was working on studing and painting 48 square meter ( 4x12 m ) composition "Creation" for The Manual&Co, leather goods company from Novi Sad, Serbia, town where I am currently living. The painting is placed in The Manual&Co store in Zmaj Jovina Street 18, in Novi Sad.

On this painting I depicted a street in imaginary ancient town with different kind of craftsman and workers, and with accent on people practice traditional leather treating crafts. Some of the figures I painted were inspired by the works of famous artists like Michelangelo, Puget, Veronese...

Composition was divided in 12 pieces 2x2m, which I was painting two by two and after each pair was finished, they hung it on the ceiling of The Manual&Co exhibition room-store. I painted it with oil colors on very thin woodpanel, curved on the metal frame to follow curve of the ceiling. After the all 12 pieces were hung, I fixed and painted gaps between them.

Here are some studies and details from the finished painting. Photos of the painting were taken under very bad lighting conditions and you'll notice a distortion because the surface is curved ( speccialy on the image with marble blocks ).
