Studies after J.M.W. Turner
Turner is one of my favorite artist.
Here are some watercolors I made in past few days, inspired by Turner's oil paintings. My basic intention was to catch his color harmonies, although the 4th is more saturated. Here they are, in chronological order.
Frederick Wadsworth Loring
Watercolor from 1997., based on the photography taken by Timothy H. O'Sullivan on the Wheeler Survey at November 5, 1871.
This person is Frederick Wadsworth Loring, the Boston reporter and crew member of the Wheeler Survey, with his mule 'Evil Merodach', four hours before Yavapai Indians attacked his stagecoach and killed him near Wickenburg, Arizona.
